Despite Saudi Arabia's agreement to increase production in the summer if there is a demand for additional supplies, the G8 countries are increasingly realising that they must turn their attention to conservation, greater fuel efficiency and alternative technologies, rather then trying to pressurise the oil producers to increase production.
